Google Gold

To obtain Search Engine Optimization, I used a group of key words in almost every single one of my blog posts. By giving the same small summary of the product I was selling to my customers, it kept a pattern in my blog posts; therefore, it would nail it down to my posts when people look up those keywords.
The keywords I used in my blog posts were:
1) portable
2) rechargeable
3) outlets
4) wifi hotspot
5) University libraries
I chose these keywords because because these are all words that people want to see in their electronics. When people look up these words on google, hopefully my blog will show up, and people will be interested in my idea. I added wifi hotspot to my list of keywords when a fellow peer suggested that I add this service for my product.
I did not really use social media to advertise my blog, but when I would post my blog website on a fellow peer's blog post, that's when my blog would get a little bit of a spotlight. I am not so dedicated on social media to have it make a difference for the success of my product.
The post that was the most viral for my blog was my first elevator pitch post. I think this was very viral because a lot of my family members heard of it and watched it on youtube. I got more views and that's very exciting.
I didn't come up at all when I typed in some of my key words, but when I typed in Alex the Entrepreneur, I was the first on google.

  1. Hey Alexandra! Great job reflecting on your efforts to promote your blog. I also did not promote on social media because I don't really mix school assignments and my social media such as Facebook or Instagram. How many views did your first elevator pitch receive, just curious? Your idea sounds pretty cool and your ability to hone in on key words is super valuable now and in the future. If you would like to check out my blog post, which you totally should, you can at this link:

  2. Hello Alex,

It's great to see that you put in key words that were related to what your business idea was. That was a really good idea! If you keep this blog around, I am sure that someone will see your idea and further encourage it. The internet is a powerful place. It's interesting that you got the most views from your first elevator pitch. The blog that had the most views for me was the Twenty Percent. Here is my Google Gold post if you're interested, http://niblaidoc.blogspot.com/2016/04/google-gold.html
